Budtender Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

*Duties may vary depending on workload, staffing levels and direction from management*

  • Must have current MMJ license.
  • Must be competent in all reception duties and able to perform the allotted tasks: answer phones, scanning filing, housekeeping, etc.
  • Must be well-versed in various cannabis categories such as strains, hashes, edibles, topicals and accessories.  Within each of these categories, the budtender must know the difference between Indica, Sativa and Hybrid strains; with the ability to give the proper recommendations and mg dosage for patients and POS accuracy.
  • Fluent with MJ Freeway's patient check in process, sales orders and applies couponing as needed.
  • Responsible for maintaining the optimum "Customer Experience" and up sells to increase margins.
  • Knowledgeable in industry laws and regulations pertaining to cannabis sales.
  • Follows compliance protocol set by the MED.
  • Must maintain an accurate cash drawer.
  • Assists management in identifying inventory items in need of restocking.  This will occur duing the opening and closing of shifts.  The budtender is responsible for shaking out jars and refilling them.
  • Maintains strain displays and signage to indicate product prices.
  • Throughout the day, the budtender maintains a clean, fully stocked and tidy sales counter.
  • Performs pre-roll creation as necessary.
  • Scans and uploads files to MJF and in Google Drive.
  • Labels store merchandise and stickers jars upon request.
  • Checks personal bin, company email and the Memo Board for staff updates.
  • Must know proper operation of scales.

Summary of Position:
Th primary function of Reception is to aid in the customer experience by greeting patients in a timely and welcoming manner.

Front Desk/Reception Primary Duties and Responsibilites:

  • Responsible for greeting patients upon arrival and performing initial check in
  • Assists new patients with questions and required forms
  • Provides existing patients with doctor's referrals and notary assistance for change of caregiver forms
  • Updates patient information in MJF; data entry, scanning, mailing and faxing CDPHE/MMED forms
  • Answers incoming phone calls and voice messages
  • Responsible for filing admin/patient paperwork and maintaining an organized file system
  • Assists Manager and Budtenders with various tasks upon request which may include product labeling, bud bar display upkeep and pre-roll creation
  • Reception may be asked to prep phone orders or an order for the next patient in the bud room
  • Upon product delivery, assist managers with Transportation Manifests and/or the counting of products
  • Responsible for checking personal in-box for tasks as well as Memo Board for new staff updates
  • Updates white board which may include staff favorites or running specials
  • Responsible for the daily upkeep of the office, waiting room, employee lounge, bud room and storage room
  • Cleans and sterilizes chop sticks, trimmers, scales and jars




  • Must be licensed by the State of Colorado Medical Marijuana Enforcement Division

Reports to Grow Facilities Manager

Summary of Position:

The Grow Technician aids in the production, maintenance and health of all crops by performing tasks assigned by the Facilities Manager.  Responsible for plant quality, trimming, and the overall efficiency of the OPC.  May help with tagging, packaging, manifesting and other special projects upon request.

Grow Technician Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties may vary depending on workload, staffing levels and direction from management.

  • Must have current MMJ badge.
  • Monitor daily crop progress to ensure good quality.
  • Oversight of daily tasks such as watering, manicuring, cloning, harvesting, team of trimmers, growth regulating and pest management, etc.
  • Manage and troubleshoot greenhouse environmental control and irrigation systems.
  • Equipment care, perform preventative maintenance to ensure a long life.
  • Complete tasks and special projects as needed.
  • Review growing/watering schedule.
  • Generating mother plants from seed, pruning, transplanting and filling/mixing soil .
  • Ensure proper spray techniques and scouting methods are adhered to.
  • Mixing nutrients and fine tuning of pH solutions.
  • Harvesting final product; drying and curing.
  • Bookkeeping; maintain counts and logs as well as return tags according to MITS compliance.
  • Housekeeping; removes excess plant material, water and trash from all rooms.
  • Execute and enforce compliance efforts of all local and state regulations.
  • When needed-oversight of in-store maintenance including but not limited to; HVAC, plumbing, repairs, snow and technology fixes.
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development as needed.
  • Physical duties may be required including but not limited to; lifting and moving boxes, inventory and/or equipment.  Makes sure all operations of the grow facilities run smoothly.
